2. Joining Guild of Honor.
Currently to join Guild of Honor, you will need to fill out an application. By using this method of selection, we accomplishes various things:
a. We learn more about you and your character
b. We can filter out the people who want to join simply for a tag above there head
c. The Officers and other high ranking members can openly discuss possible new members in their own time.
In some very rare cases you may be invited to the guild without the need for an application, however, these are very discretionary, and solely by the Guild Master.
Upon a successful application, an Officer will likely contact you, in this time it is best that you are not busy, if you are, please do tell the Officer this, or if possible, attempt to spare some time (generally 10-15 minutes) to discussing your application with us (e.g. Don't join a new raid or a party to an instance), by doing this the Officer will instantly get the impression that you are serious about joining the guild, it will also add support to your application as it proves you are willing to commit your time to the guild and show a willingness to listen.

Application tips:

a. Try to be as thorough as possible with your application, avoid 1337 speak, and try to be as accurate as you possibly can with your language. Many people on this server are from across Europe, and the language generally used is English. It is understandable that not every player will be perfectly accurate with the language and no decision will be made against your application due to language barriers, unless it is deemed that this would cause a problem to the guilds functioning. Example:

Good response. I) Why do you wish you join Guild of Honor? I would like to join your guild, as I am a committed player, that has ambitions of playing and seeing the game at a Tier 6 content level. I have been in several active guilds, however I have not found a guild that I felt settled in, due to the fact that the members have not shown the same commitment that I have. From joining your guild in a recent run to Zul'Aman, I found your members to be mature and reliable, and reflecting the commitment and enjoyment that I also have for raiding.

Bad Response . ii) I wanna join goh, cos i think i will be the best dps that you have, i have imba skillz and i will always be top of damage done. i have seen you all in if and i want the gear like you all have. i have been in other guild but they have made me roflmao cuz they havent got skillz like me.

b. After making an application, it is unlikely that a Officer will reply to you immediately, it is necessary to remember that the Officers also want to enjoy the game, and that as an Officer, there are a lot of demands on us towards the correct functioning of the guild. A response to an application will be attempted as soon as possible, however, we generally like to get input from multiple high ranking members about an application before in-game contact is made.

c. As obvious as it may seem, in the 'Character Name' section, please do not use any other alias that the Character name that you wish to apply to the guild on, ax44 is not appropriate, nor is applying as (example) Miller if your intended raiding character will be Flammas. Applications like this rarely get read, as even if the application is fantastic, the Officer will have no way of contacting you. Also, with the name you use an automatic armoury link will be created. This is also reviewed with an application.

d. Try to fill out all the sections with as good a response as possible, this will show the reader that your application is serious, and not something done before you log off for the night.

e. If applying to another guild, do not copy and paste your application, this will show a lack of commitment, and will doubtlessly result in a failed application.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
3. Trial Membership.
Congratulations! This can only mean that your application has been successful and you are now eligible to raid with Guild of Honor in 'Main Day' raids. However, this does not mean that the trying is over. A trial membership to Guild of Honor is exactly that, it is considered as an extended application. Trial Memberships generally last 2 weeks, however, this is a general estimate, and this may last longer, or even last only 1 week, this is dependant upon:
a. Activity
b. Communication with other members (e.g. constant use of swear words may be a hindrance)
c. Focus in raid settings
d. Commitment to the guild

After this trial period one of two things will happen:
a. Promotion to New Member,
b. Termination of Trial Membership.
- Promotion to New Member: The effort has paid off, and you are no longer a Trial Member. However, effort and activity will still need to remain constant, as your membership to the guild may still be terminated if it drops below our raid times and our schedule.
- Termination of Trial Membership: This happens when the member shows a lack of activity and commitment in raids. Other factors may affect this, this action will result in removal of the concerned member for the guild.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4. Raiding.
Well, this is the whole life force of the guild. A lot of our fun and entertainment comes from this. It is our focus and will take place regularly. The days for raiding are static, are very unlikely to change.
(All Times GMT+1)

Wednesday: 19:00 - 23:00 (May last a little longer in some situations)
Sunday: 19.00 - 23:00 (May last a little longer in some situations)
Plus one other day of the week at the same time.

In order for the guild to continually function, we request that all members (Trial and upwards) attend a minimum of 2 of the 3 possible raids. Attendance that regularly drops below this can result in termination of guild membership.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
5. Removal from the guild.
There are various reasons that a member may be removed from the guild, these are;
a. Inactivity
b. Continuous use of inappropriate language
c. 'Ninja' looting
d. Application to another guild
e. Racism
f. Harassment, of any nature
g. Continued behaviour of any sort that an Officer or the Guild Master has asked to cease
h. Inability to listen in a raid environment
i. Continuous lack of commitment in a raid environment
j. Signing for a raid and not being online at the requested raid time on multiple occasions (Without giving a prior-reason)
k. Lack of commitment to the guild e.g. PUGging raids without an officer/GM's consent or raiding with another guild.
l. Whilst this may seem as a strange reason it is an important one: Arguing with an Officer/Guild Master. Whatever this may be over, tactics, choice of raid instance etc… The fuction of the guild is ultimately run by the Officers and Guild Master, while we appreciate your concerns and comments, arguing for the sake of arguing, or, arguing simply to get a free ride to the content you want is NOT acceptable.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
6. DKP
While in a raid, you will earn DKP for time spent in raids, and occassionally bonus dkp. Ways of earning DKP are:
a. Joining the guild on trial, +15 DKP (one time only)
b. Killing a boss does NOT award DKP, 5 DKP however, is awarded hourly
c. Bonus DKP may be awarded to members at the Guild Masters discretion for various achievements.
DKP can be viewed on the DKP tab on the navigation bar at the top of the website.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
7. Items
Now that you have DKP, you can bid on items. There are no rules about what membership you must be to bid on an item, therefore, anyone from the lowest rank to the highest rank to can bid equally on an item. The is no discrimination against who may or may not bid on an item with 2 exceptions.
If you are bidding for off spec you may only bid 5 DKP in the first round, and may no longer bid in the following 2 rounds.
Loot priority is given to the class who is minimised to that proficiency e.g. Mages and Warlocks will have priority over a druid on Cloth items.
While in a raid, an epic item drops. This item with then be put up to auction by the master looter. This is a 3 round event, that will end in 2 ways;
a. 1 Highest bidder wins the auction
b. 2 Bidders bid the same amount, and then have to /roll against each other to determine who is the winner of the auction.
When an item drops it will be announced in raid chat by the Master Looter, at this stage you will be told to place your bids now.
To bid on an item you must whisper the master looter with the amount of DKP (5 is the minimum bid) that you wish to spend. E.g. /Whisper Miller 5. Only whisper with the amount in numerical terms that you wish to bid. E.g.
5
10
66
90

Do not whisper with: 40 DKP, Fifty, or 4.5.
Your bid will be either disregarded or not included. Member who deliberately corrupt an auction so that they may have a new chance at bidding, will be removed from the raid and/or have their bid cancelled and the amount of DKP used to corrupt the auction subtracted from their account.

Also, on this matter, members who bid more DKP than they truly have will be disqualified from the bidding and a new auction will begin. But will still have the DKP they bid subtracted, regardless of whether or not they will then be in minus DKP or not.

You can find out your DKP for the current raid you are in by whispering Miller with: ‘DKP ‘your name’’ E.G: DKP miller

Unfortunately, this feature is only available while Miller in in a raid.

Example auction:
Auctioning Armageddon, 3 rounds of bidding. 25 seconds in each round.
Whisper Miller to bid. Example: '/w Miller 100'
Now taking bids
10 seconds remaining.
(person a. '/whisper miller 5')
(person b. /whisper miller 5')

Auction over for Armageddon . 2 high bids of 5. Round 2 beginning.
Now taking bids.
10 seconds remaining
(person a. 'Whisper miller 6')
(person b '/whisper miller 8')

Auction over for Armageddon, 1 high bid of 8. Round 3 beginning.
Now taking bids.
10 seconds remaining.
(person a. '/whisper miller 100')
(person b. '/whisper miller 150')
Person b. wins the auction for Armageddon, for 150 DKP.

8. General Rules
i. In guild.
While outside of a raid there are various rules in place to provide general smooth running of the guild, and maximise enjoyment for all members. These are:
It is your responsibility as a member of Guild of Honor to:
- Help out if possible with members of your class
- Help other members if guild related help is necessary
- Aid in the acquirement of materials necessary for raiding (E.g. Grinding materials as a guild for Sapphiron resistance gear)
- Not use bad/rude/offensive language towards other guild members
- Work towards any necessary attunements to aid the speed in which the guild progresses
- Read up on new encounters whilst not in raid to speed up progression on a boss
- Try to be active on the forums also, with ideas and other items/agendas
- Aid in the recruiting of new members where necessary, required classes and specs can be found on the Homepage.
- Take the time to acquire elixirs, potions and consumables necessary for your class before a raid.

A constant irrespective and hostile attitude towards any other member of the guild will result in a warning, and then removal from the guild.

ii. In raid.
As a raiding guild, it is required that:
- You attend at a minimum 2 out of 3 of the raids posted per week. Consideration will be given to those who sign but are not invited to the raid(s), those falling consistently below this mark, especially those on trial period, risk being removed from the guild.
- Be online 5-10 minute before raid (unless previously stated otherwise).
- Be fully repaired BEFORE the raid.
- Have enough elixirs/flasks and food with a 'well-fed' bonus for the raid that night.
- Use consumables on every encounter (Minimum of; 1 elixir/a flask and a food buff)
- Be near, or at, the scheduled raid instance designated for that day 5 minutes before raid invites (e.g. Coldarra near The Nexus, or Be inside the instance area before Malygos) Do NOT expect summoning
- Run back after a wipe and not expect a resurrection to minimise 'downtime' on bosses unless stated otherwise by a Raid Leader
- Listen and respect what is being said on Ventrilo by the Raid Leader
- Do not attempt to over-rule what the Raid Leader instructs in a raid. E.G Do NOT say ‘Pull’ on Trash/Bosses. Only the Raid Leader is to make these decisions, unless he permits another member to do it for that raid only.
- Not to leave a raid without notification, or previous arrangement with an Officer/Raid Leader/Class Leader
- Not speak in guild/general chat during an encounter
- Have a PvE talent distribution specific to your class

Breach of these rules will result in the concerned member being removed for the raid, to be replaced by a more respectful person. Constant inconsideration will incur removal from the guild.
